How can I clear the "PLS OPEN COVER" error message on LCD?


  1. A piece of paper or other item such as a paper clip may be jammed inside the machine.
  2. Open the front cover. If you see any jammed paper or another item inside this area, gently pull it out and then close the front cover securely.
  3. If the error message continues, open and close the front cover again. If the FAX/DCP/MFC cannot reset itself and return to the date and time prompt, it will display Machine Error XX. Please call Brother Customer Service and tell them the Machine Error number:
