What is the best printer driver to use-the PCL or BR-Script driver?
Some Brother printers are supplied with two printer drivers: a PCL driver and a BR-Script (PostScript language emulation) driver.
For Windows® Users:
Generally speaking, we recommend you use the PCL driver. This is the default driver for Windows® PCs. However, you may want to use the BR-Script driver if you are using a DTP (Desk Top Publishing) application such as Quark Express or Adobe Illustrator.
For Macintosh® Users:
A separate Macintosh® driver is provided for users to print using the USB interface. Mac OS® X users must use Brother's BR-Script print driver to print over a network.
Please note the BR-Script print driver will only be supplied for printers that offer the BR-Script emulation (PostScript3 emulation). For printers that do not support BR-Script, a Quickdraw driver is provided for Mac support.
