I'm using Windows. I tried to install the software, but the installation failed and now I can not remove the portions that did install. What can I do?

The issue may have happened if you clicked the Next button after you finished installing the PaperPort®  software. You should wait until the MFL-Pro Suite (MFC Software Suite) installer starts.

Please uninstall the driver and the MFL-Pro Suite as follows:

 


STEP1: How to uninstall the driver
  1. Make a temporary folder on your HDD [hard disk drive] as the location to save the downloaded self-extracting file, e.g. C:\brodnt

  2. Please click here to download the Uninstall Tool to remove the drivers.

  3. Once downloading is completed, double click the downloaded file to extract it.

  4. "ZIP Self Decompression" appears. Click DECOMPRESS.

  5. A message that the process was successful will appear. Click OK.

  6. Then open the folder that is created.

  7. Double click the DelInf32 (.exe may appear at the end of the name) icon. "Brother MFC Uninstaller" will appear.

DO NOT double click DelInf_x.EXE with ZIP on the icon.


  1. Verify your model appears in the box under "Please select the MODEL" and select your connection type (USB or Parallel) under "Please select connection type". Then, click OK.

  2. "Complete" will appear. Click OK.

  3. Restart the computer. The Brother Drivers have now been removed.

  4. Unplug the power cord of the Brother machine AND the USB or Parallel cable before starting the Reinstallation Steps below.

If you are a Windows 95/ 98/ 2000 user, this procedure deletes both the USB driver and Parallel driver even though you selected only one.

 

STEP2: How to uninstall "MFL-Pro Suite (MFC Software Suite)"

  1. In case you can't re-install the software:

    1. Please click here to download the tool and save it on your PC.
    2. Double click the downloaded file Dlinstrg.exe and run the program.

  2. In case you can't uninstall the software to reinstall it:

    1. Please click here to download the tool and save it on your PC.
    2. Double click the downloaded file DELREG.exe and run the program.

Now, re-install the driver and MFL-Pro Suite (MFC Software Suite) from the CD-ROM following the instructions in the quick setup guide.
