Yes, if the SLEEPTIME setting is enabled, the printer will turn itself off automatically after the set period of inactivity.

1. Start the BPM (Brother Printer Management Tool).
   You can download the BPM from the [Downloads] section of this website.

   The BPM does not support the Bluetooth^® connection. We recommend connecting the printer to your computer via USB or Wi-Fi®.
   For details about how to connect, see the FAQ: "How to connect the printer to my computer (for Windows)".

2. Click Command Tool.
    
3. Type the following commands and press the Enter key, and then click Send.
   • Available settings: [OFF], 0~65534 minutes
   • The default value is 120 minutes.
   To disable the automatic power off setting:

   SET SLEEPTIME OFF

    

   To enable the automatic power off setting (Where XXXXX is available settings:"0~65534" minutes):

   SET SLEEPTIME XXXXX

   If you fail to press the Enter key before clicking Send, the commands will not be executed.



4. Restart the printer.
