What maintenance should be performed?

Perform machine maintenance as required.

Some environments require that maintenance must be done more frequently (for example, if the machine is located in dusty conditions).

Before performing machine maintenance, turn off the machine, and then unplug the power cord from the power outlet.

Print head maintenance

  • Immediately after printing, the print head will be hot. Be careful not to be burned.
  • Do not directly touch the print head with your fingers.
  1. Press the open button to open the top cover.

  2. Lift up the protective cover (1), and then lightly wipe the print head (2) with the cleaning pen.

When printing stops in cooling mode, do not open the top cover or bottom cover, otherwise printing will not resume.

    About cooling mode:

If the print head becomes too hot, printing will stop so that the print head can cool down, while the power indicator blinks once every second in orange. At that time, an extra vertical line will be printed on the tape or fabric ribbon. After cooling, printing will resume.

This may occur when printing a high volume of text with a high print density.

To avoid or delay the onset of this condition, edit your design to reduce the detail.
