How do I adjust the voice volume on the cordless handset of my Brother machine?

Please follow steps below:

Adjusting Handset (Voice) Volume:
You can adjust the Digital Cordless Handset (DECT™ Handset) volume any time you are talking on the telephone by pressing or on the cordless handset. This setting will stay until you change it again.
Adjusting Handset (Voice) Volume (For Volume Amplify):
*Only for USA/Canada/Latin America Customers.
  1. Choosing the Handset Volume for Volume Amplify:

Before you begin to use the Digital Cordless Handset (DECT™ Handset), you must decide if you need to set the cordless handset volume to Volume Amplify:On for a user who is hearing-impaired. The AMPLIFY volume level complies with FCC standards.

Vol Amplify:Off This default setting is used if NONE of the users are hearing-impaired. During a conversation, users can press or on the cordless handset to adjust the volume to Low or High. When the cordless handset is replaced, the volume setting will remain until you change it again.
    Vol Amplify:On
    -Temporary
This setting is used if SOME of the users are hearing-impaired. During a conversation, users can press or on the cordless handset to adjust the volume to Low, High, or Volume Amplify. When the cordless handset is replaced, the volume will return to the default setting of Low.
    Vol Amplify:On
    -Permanent
This setting is used if ALL of the users are hearing-impaired. During a conversation, users can press or on the cordless handset to adjust the volume to Low, High, or Volume Amplify. When the cordless handset is replaced, the volume will return to the default setting of Volume Amplify.

When you press or on the cordless handset to adjust the volume, the LCD shows the setting you are choosing. Each key press changes the volume to the next setting.

Is it important that you do NOT choose Permanent unless ALL users are hearing-impaired. Otherwise, the default setting of Volume Amplify may damage the hearing of some users.

  2. Changing Volume Amplify:

    1. Press Menu/OK on the cordless handset.
    2. Press the up or down arrow key to choose Setup Volume. Press Menu/OK.
    3. Press the up or down arrow key to choose Volume Amplify. Press Menu/OK.
    4. Do one of the following:
      • If none of the users are hearing-impaired, press the up or down arrow key to choose Off, and then press Menu/OK and go to STEP f.
      • If some or all of the users are hearing-impaired, press the up or down arrow key to choose On, and then press Menu/OK and go to STEP e.
    5. Do one of the following:
      • If all the users are hearing-impaired, press the up or down arrow key to choose Permanent, and then press Menu/OK.
      • If only some of the users are hearing-impaired, press the up or down arrow key to choose Temporary, and then press Menu/OK.
