Scan a text document and convert it into a text file (For Macintosh)

You can scan a text document and convert it into a text file using ControlCenter2, and then edit it in your favorite word processing software. In order to use this feature, you must have Presto! PageManager installed on your Macintosh.

Presto! PageManager is available as a download from the NewSoft website:

For Mac OS X 10.5.8 - 10.7.x users:

For OS X 10.8 or later users:

NOTE: Illustrations shown below are from a representative product and operating system and may differ from your Brother machine and operating system.

  1. Load your document.
  2. Click the Scan tab.
  3. Click OCR.
    Scan tab


  4. The Scan to OCR dialog box will appear. You can configure the scan settings.


  5. Click Start Scanning. Your default word processing application will start and display the converted text data.
