I was using my mobile device and printer via Bluetooth®, but the connection was cut off. How do I connect the devices again?

You can solve the problem by specifying the Bluetooth setting on your mobile device again.

Follow the instructions below:

> Manually reconfigure Bluetooth connection

> Automatically reconnect Bluetooth (iOS/iPadOS devices only)

Manually reconfigure Bluetooth connection

  1. In Settings, access the Bluetooth option and turn it off.

  2. Turn the Bluetooth setting on again. When the list of discovered Bluetooth devices appears, tap "[model name][the last four digits of your printer's serial number]". Alternatively, you can find your machine number on the sticker below the Power Button). The unit's serial number is located where the TZe Tape Cassette is set inside the Cassette Cover.
  3. If asked to enter a PIN Code, enter “0000”.

Observe the following points so that the connection will not be cut off.

    • When using a smart cover, use your mobile device with the smart cover opened.
    • Use your mobile device within the communication range of the printer.
    • Make sure you do not allow your mobile device to enter the sleep mode.

Automatically reconnect Bluetooth (iOS/iPadOS devices only)

It is possible to automatically reconnect your mobile device if the Auto re-paired Device setting is enabled in the Communication Settings of the Printer Setting Tool. When the Bluetooth connection is cut off due to reasons such as the power supply of the printer being turned off and on again, or the iOS/iPadOS device temporarily going outside of the service area and then back in again, the printer will connect itself to the mobile device automatically.

  1. Connect the printer to be configured to your computer.

  2. Start the Printer Setting Tool. Refer to the FAQ: "Using the Printer Setting Tool (for Windows)".

  3. The Printer Setting Tool screen is displayed. Select the printer and click the Communication Settings... button.

  4. In the Bluetooth tab, set Auto re-pairing to Enable and click Apply.

  5. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer and computer.

  6. Pair your mobile device with the printer via Bluetooth.
When pairing is complete, the printer's Power LED lights in green.
    • When the automatic reconnection setting is set to Enable, the device that was last connected is used as the Bluetooth automatic reconnection destination information.

    • If another device is connected, the information for the previously connected device is overwritten, and the automatic reconnection destination information is updated.

    • To change the device for performing automatic reconnection, try the following.
      • Turn off Bluetooth using the last connected device.
      • In the Bluetooth tab of the Communication Settings, execute Delete Auto re-paired Device.
