I am using my Brother machine's built-in Message Center (TAD), and there is a long pause between the end of my Outgoing Message (OGM) and the beep that prompts callers to leave a message. What can I do?

The Outgoing Message on your Brother machine's built-in Message Center (TAD) can be up to 20 seconds long. If your Outgoing Message is less than 20 seconds long, you should do the following once you are finished speaking to stop recording:

  • If your Brother machine has Digital Cordless Handset (DECT™ Handset), press Stop/Exit when finished recording your message.

  • If not, replace the handset when finished recording your message.

If you do the above after you finish speaking, callers will hear the beep immediately after your Outgoing Message.
If not, your Brother machine will continue to record for the remainder of the 20-second duration. Callers will likely experience dead air or hear incidental sound until your Brother machine beeps.
