Print a report that will show a listing of faxes I sent and received
The Fax Journal report lists information about the last 200 incoming and outgoing faxes. Using this report, you can tell the date and time each fax was sent or received, the name or number the fax was sent to or received from (provided the Station ID has been set), and whether or not the transmission was successful. When the 201st fax is sent or received, the 1st fax is deleted from memory.
On the Fax Journal, TX indicates a fax you sent, while RX indicates a fax you received.
You can print this report on demand by following these steps:
-
Press the Reports, Ink/Reports or Ink Management/Reports key.
-
Press the Up or Down arrow key until Fax Journal appears and press OK or Menu/Set.
-
Press Start or Black (Mono) Start to print the report.
In addition, you can set the Brother machine to print the Fax Journal report at regular intervals (every 50 faxes; every 6, 12, or 24 hours; every 2 or 7 days). The default setting is every 50 faxes. To set or change the interval at which the Fax Journal report prints, follow these steps:
-
Press Menu or Menu/Set.
-
Press the Up or Down arrow key until Fax appears and press OK or Menu/Set.
-
Press the Up or Down arrow key until Report Setting appears and press OK or Menu/Set.
-
Press the Up or Down arrow key until Journal Period appears and press OK or Menu/Set.
- Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose an interval, then press OK or Menu/Set to confirm your choice.
If you choose 7 days, the LCD will ask you to choose a day on which to begin the 7-day countdown.
-
Enter the time you want the report to begin printing in 24-hour format. For example, enter 19:45 rather than 7:45PM. After entering the time, press OK or Menu/Set to confirm your choice.
-
Press Stop/Exit to exit the menu.
- If you choose Every 50 Faxes:
the Brother machine will print the Journal when the machine has stored data for 50 faxes.
- If you choose an interval other than Every 50 Faxes:
the Brother machine will print the report at the designated time and then erase all stored fax data from its memory.
- If the machine's memory becomes full with 200 entries before the amount of time you chose has passed:
the Brother machine will print the Journal early and then erase all stored fax data from memory.
- If you want an extra report before it is due to print:
you can print it without erasing the fax data in memory.
