When I use an Ad-Hoc network, the Wireless Mode is always set to 802.11b and I can not change it to 802.11g. Why?

If the Brother Wireless device is part of an Ad-hoc network, it automatically switches to 802.11b mode. When in Ad-hoc mode, the Brother Wireless device only supports 802.11b.
