Due to the construction of the tape mechanism, there is no way to print without excess tape before the first label.

However, when you print more than one label continuously, the subsequent labels can be printed without the excess tape.

The following methods are useful for reducing tape use:
 

> When printing a single label
> When printing multiple labels
 

When printing a single label

1. Press the [Label] key (  /  )/[Function] key (  ).
2. Press or to display [Cut Option], and then press the [OK] key or [Enter] key (  /  ).
3. Press or to display [Small Margin], and then press the [OK] key or [Enter] key.

When printing multiple labels

To reduce the margin size of the second and subsequent labels, print multiple labels consecutively using either the same or different layout for the labels.
 

Using the same layout for multiple labels

1. Press the [Label] key (  /  )/[Function] key (  ).
2. Press or to display [Cut Option], and then press the [OK] key or [Enter] key (  /  ).
3. Press or to display [Chain], and then press the [OK] key or [Enter] key.
4. Enter the text.
5. Press the [Print] key (  /  ). [Copies] appears.
6. Press or to select your desired number of copies (1 - 9).
7. Press the [Print] key.
8. When the message [OK to Feed?] appears after the last label is printed, be sure to press the [OK] key or [Enter] key.

   When [Chain] is set, feed the tape before using the cutter otherwise a part of the text may be cut off.
    Be sure to feed the tape before cutting the tape.

9.  After the tape is fed, press the cutter lever to cut off the chain of labels.

Using different layouts for multiple labels

1. Press the [Label] key (  /  )/[Function] key (  ).
2. Press or to display [Cut Option], and then press the [OK] key or [Enter] key (  /  ).
3. Press or to display [Chain], and then press the [OK] key or [Enter] key.
4. Enter the text.
5. Press the [Print] key (  /  ). [Copies] appears.
6. Press or to select your desired number of copies (1 - 9).
7. Press the [OK] key or [Enter] key. The message [OK to Feed?] appears.
8. Press the [Escape] key (  ) to edit the next label.
9. Clear the text, and enter the text for the next label.
10. Repeat step d to h until all labels have been created, and then press the [Print] key.
11. When the message [OK to Feed?] appears after the last label is printed, be sure to press the [OK] key or [Enter] key.

    When [Chain] is set, feed the tape before using the cutter otherwise a part of the text may be cut off.

    Be sure to feed the tape before cutting the tape.

12. After the tape is fed, press the cutter lever to cut off the chain of labels.
