The printed label contains blank horizontal lines.

A horizontal line can be a result of foreign material collecting on the surface of the print head. This can be corrected by cleaning.

 

To clean the machine:

 

  1. Press the "On Off" key to turn off the machine's power.

  2. Disconnect the AC adapter from the right side of the machine.

  3. Press the cover release button and then open the tape compartment cover.

  4. Remove the tape cassette by pulling it straight up.

  5. Locate the print head and rollers assembly that is housed in the tape compartment. The print head is mounted on the front of the metal bracket located to the left of the large spindle in the tape compartment. The two black rollers are located in the front edge of the tape compartment, across from the print head.

  6. Gently wipe the print head up and down using a dry cotton swab.

  7. Use the cotton swab to wipe up and down along each roller while rotating them with your finger.

  8. Install a tape cassette into the tape compartment making sure to firmly press it down into position.
