Scan a fax into my Brother machine while it is sending a fax from memory, receiving a fax, or printing a document from my computer.
Your Brother machine has Dual Access capabilities.
You can dial a fax number and start scanning a fax into the Brother machine's memory, even when the machine is sending a fax from memory, receiving faxes, or printing documents from a computer. The Brother machine's LCD will display the new job number.
- You cannot use Dual Access to store color faxes in memory.
- The number of pages you can scan into the memory will vary depending on the data that is printed on them.
- If the Out of Memory message appears while your Brother machine is scanning a document, press Stop/Exit to cancel the transmission or press Black (Mono) Start to immediately send the scanned pages.
To use Dual Access, follow these steps:
- Load your document.
- Enter the fax number you want to send to.
- Press Black (Mono) Start on the Brother machine.
- As the machine scans the document, the LCD displays the fax job number.
- After the machine scans the document, it will start dialing the number you entered. You can immediately repeat STEPS 1 through 3 to scan the next document you want to fax.
- As the machine scans the document, the LCD displays the fax job number.
The machine normally operates in Dual Access mode, but you can override Dual Access by using Real Time Transmission. Click here to see the details of how to use Real Time Transmission.
