How do I store numbers on my Brother machine for easy dialing? (One Touch, Speed Dial)

You can program your Brother machine to do two types of easy dialing: One Touch Dialing and Speed Dialing. If you lose electrical power, auto-dial numbers stored in memory will not be lost.

Storing One Touch Dial numbers:

Your Brother machine has 3 One Touch keys where you can store 6 fax or telephone numbers for automatic dialing. To access numbers 4 to 6 hold down the Shift key as you press the One Touch key. You can also store names with these numbers. When you dial a One Touch number, your Brother machine's LCD displays the name or number as the call is dialed.

One Touch keys are not the dial pad keys. They are the four keys (labeled 1 - 6) located on the left side of the control panel.

To store One Touch numbers, please follow these steps:
  1. Press the Up arrow key (Phone Book).

  2. Press the Up or Down arrow key to select Set One Touch.

  3. Press OK.

  4. Press the One Touch key where you want to store the number.

  5. Enter the fax or telephone number (up to 20 digits).

  6. Press OK.

  7. Do one of the following:
Enter the name (up to 16 characters) and press OK.
    -OR-
To store the number without a name, press OK.

  8. Press Stop/Exit.

Storing Speed Dial numbers:

Speed Dial numbers are stored as 2-digit locations on the dial pad of your Brother machine. Once you have programmed a number to a Speed Dial location, you can dial the number by pressing - the Up arrow key (Phone Book), OK key, # key, the two-digit number and then Black Start (Mono Start) or Color Start (Colour Start). The Brother machine can store 100 Speed Dial numbers.
To store Speed Dial numbers, please follow these steps:

  1. Press the Up arrow key (Phone Book).

  2. Press the Up or Down arrow key to select Set Speed Dial.

  3. Press OK.

  4. Use the dial pad to enter a 2-digit Speed Dial location number (00-99).

  5. Press OK.

  6. Enter the fax or telephone number (up to 20 digits).

  7. Press OK.

  8. Do one of the following:
Enter the name (up to 16 characters) and press OK.
