The Brother machine has separate consumables the toner cartridge and the drum unit. Verify you replace only the drum unit and not the toner cartridge.

Follow the steps below to clear the Replace Drum message.

NOTE: Illustrations shown below are from a representative product and may differ from your Brother machine.
 

1. Make sure that the machine is turned on.
2. Open the front cover.
   
3. Remove the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly from the machine.
   
4. Push down the lock lever and take the toner cartridge out of the drum unit.
   
5. Unpack the new drum unit and put the toner cartridge firmly into the new drum unit until you hear it lock into place. If you put the cartridge in correctly, the lock lever on the drum unit will lift automatically.
   
6. Install the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly back into the machine. Do not close the top cover yet.
   
7. Press (Power On/Off). Do not close the top cover yet.
   
8. Press and hold OK for about two seconds to display Drum Unit, and then press OK.
9. Press the Up arrow key to display Reset and reset the drum counter.
10. Close the front cover.
