How do I store received faxes in my Brother machine's memory?

You can store incoming faxes in your Brother machine's memory by turning on the Fax Storage feature.

When Fax Storage is on, your Brother machine will also automatically print back up copies of your faxes as they are received. This is a precautionary feature that ensures you will not lose your messages in the event of a power failure.

Your Brother machine's LCD will indicate when you have a fax stored in memory.

TURNING FAX STORAGE ON

  1. Press MENU.

  2. Choose Fax => Remote Fax Opt => Forward/Store.

  3. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Fax Storage.

  4. Press the OK key.

  5. Press the STOP/EXIT key.

    Color faxes cannot be stored in memory. If you receive a color fax while Fax Storage is on, your Brother machine will just print the fax.

TURNING FAX STORAGE OFF

  1. Press MENU.

  2. Choose Fax => Remote Fax Opt => Forward/Store.

  3. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Off.

  4. Press the OK key.

  5. Press the STOP/EXIT key.

    If there are faxes in memory when you turn Fax Storage off, your Brother machine's LCD will ask you the following question:

    Erase all fax? Yes - Press 1, No - Press 2.

    Do one of the following:

    - Press 1 to erase all stored fax data and turn Fax Storage off.

    - Press 2 to keep the faxes stored in memory and leave Fax Storage on.

PRINTING A FAX FROM MEMORY

If you have Fax Storage turned on, you can still print a fax from memory when you are at your Brother machine:

  1. Press MENU.

  2. Choose Fax => Remote Fax Opt => Print Document.

  3. Press the gray key labeled BLACK (MONO) START on the Brother machine.
    Your Brother machine will print the stored faxes.

    When you print a fax from memory, it is automatically erased from memory.
