Print on both sides of the page? (Manual 2-sided/Duplex Printing)

Although your Brother machine does not support Automatic 2-sided(Duplex) printing (the machine automatically prints on both sides of a sheet of paper), you can manually print on both sides of a page.

  • If your Brother machine is connected to a PC, you will use the 2-sided(Duplex) settings in your printer driver. See PROCEDURE A: USING A PC TO PRINT ON BOTH SIDES OF A PAGE
  • If your Brother machine is connected to a Macintosh, you will use the Print Odd Pages and Print Even Pages settings in the Print Dialog Box of the application you are printing from. See PROCEDURE B:USING A Macintosh TO PRINT ON BOTH SIDES OF A PAGE

For example, if you are using a Macintosh and want to print a 10-page file on 5 sheets of paper, you must set the printer driver to print all odd-numbered pages in reverse order (9, 7, 5, 3, 1) first, print the odd-numbered pages, reload the printed pages into your Brother machine, set the printer driver to print all even-numbered pages in normal order (2, 4, 6, 8, 10), then print the even-numbered pages.
