Store received faxes into my Brother machine's memory (Fax Storage)

You can store incoming faxes in your Brother machine's memory by turning on the Fax Storage feature.


Incoming color faxes will be converted to black and white and stored in your Brother machine's memory.


Turning Fax Storage setting on

*If your Brother machine has a touchscreen, please follow the steps under "For touchscreen models" below.


  1. Press Menu on the control panel.

  2. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Fax and press OK.

  3. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Remote Fax Opt and press OK.

  4. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Forward/Page/Store or Foward/Store and press OK.

  5. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Fax Storage (or Off if you wish to disable Fax Storage). Press OK.

  6. Press Stop/Exit.

When Fax Storage is On, your Brother machine will also automatically print backup copies of your faxes as they are received. This is a precautionary feature that ensures you will not lose your messages in the event of a power failure.


When you receive a color fax, your Brother machine prints it in black and white.


<For touchscreen models>

  1. Press MENU on the screen.

  2. Press the Up or Down arrow to display Fax.

  3. Press Fax.

  4. Press the Up or Down arrow to display Setup Receive.

  5. Press Setup Receive.

  6. Press the Up or Down arrow to display Forward/Page/Store or Foward/Store.

  7. Press Forward/Page/Store or Foward/Store.

  8. Press Fax Storage. (or Off if you wish to disable Fax Storage)

  9. Press Stop/Exit.
