Change or delete a Group stored at a One Touch/Speed Dial.



Changing or deleting a Group stored at a One Touch location



You can change or delete an existing Group that is stored on a One Touch number by following these steps:



  1. Press Menu/Set, 2 (Fax), 3 (Set Quick-Dial), 3 (Setup Groups).

  2. Press the One Touch key with the Group you want to change or delete.

    • < For FAX Users >
      To select One Touch locations 11 through 20, press and hold the Shift key then press the appropriate One Touch key.

    • Your Brother machine's LCD will display the Group name or number stored at that One Touch location with the message 1. Change 2. Exit.


  3. Press 1.

  4. Do one of the following:

    • Enter a new number to add it to the Group:

      • To add a One Touch number, press the One Touch key it is stored on.

        For FAX Users:
        To select One Touch locations 11 through 20, press and hold the Shift key then press the appropriate One Touch key.


      • To add a Speed Dial number, follow these steps:

        1. Press the Search/Speed Dial key.

        2. Press #.

        3. Press the three-digit location the number you want to add is stored on.


    • To erase the Group, repeatedly press the Stop/Exit key until all its numbers are deleted.

    • To erase one One Touch or Speed Dial number from the Group, follow these steps:

      1. Press the ◄ or ► key to position the cursor under the number you want to delete.

      2. Press the Stop/Exit key to delete the character.


  5. Press the Menu/Set key.

  6. Do one of the following:

    • If there is no existing Group name, you can use the dial pad to enter one.
      The name can be up to 15 characters long.

    • If there is an existing Group name, you can follow these steps to change it:

      1. Press the ◄ or ► key to position the cursor where you want to insert a new character.

      2. Type the character you want to insert.


    • If there is an existing Group name, you can follow these steps to delete it:

      1. Press the key to position the cursor at the beginning of the Group name.

      2. Press the Stop/Exit key to delete the Group name.


    • To store the Group with the existing name, go to Step 7.

    • If there is no existing Group name and you do not want one, go to Step 7.


  7. Press the Menu/Set key.

  8. Do one of the following:

    • To change, delete, or store another Group, go back to Step 2.

    • Press the Stop/Exit key.




Changing or deleting a Group stored at a Speed Dial location



You can change or delete an existing Group that is stored on a Speed Dial number by following these steps:



  1. Press Menu/Set, 2 (Fax), 3 (Set Quick-Dial), 3 (Setup Groups).

  2. Press the Search/Speed Dial key.

  3. Press the three-digit Speed Dial location with the number you want to change or delete.

    • The LCD will display the Group name or number stored at that Speed Dial location with the message 1. Change 2. Exit.


  4. Press the Menu/Set key.

  5. Press 1.

  6. Do one of the following:

    • Enter a new number to add it to the Group:

      • To add a One Touch number, press the One Touch key it is stored on.

        For FAX Users:
        To select One Touch locations 11 through 20, press and hold the Shift key then press the appropriate One Touch key.


      • To add a Speed Dial number, follow these steps:

        1. Press the Search/Speed Dial key.

        2. Press #.

        3. Press the three-digit location the number you want to add is stored on.


    • To erase the Group, repeatedly press the Stop/Exit key until all its numbers are deleted.

    • To erase one One Touch or Speed Dial number from the Group, follow these steps:

      1. Press the ◄ or ► key to position the cursor under the number you want to delete.

      2. Press the Stop/Exit key to delete the character.


  7. Press the Menu/Set key.

  8. Do one of the following:

    • If there is no existing Group name, you can use the dial pad to enter one.
      The name can be up to 15 characters long.

    • If there is an existing Group name, you can follow these steps to change it:

      1. Press the ◄ or ► key to position the cursor where you want to insert a new character.

      2. Type the character you want to insert.


    • If there is an existing Group name, you can follow these steps to delete it:

      1. Press the key to position the cursor at the beginning of the Group name.

      2. Press the Stop/Exit key to delete the Group name.


    • To store the Group with the existing name, go to Step 9.

    • If there is no existing Group name and you do not want one, go to Step 9.


  9. Press the Menu/Set key.

  10. Do one of the following:

    • To change, delete, or store another Group, go back to Step 2.

    • Press the Stop/Exit key.
