FAQs & Troubleshooting |
You can set your Brother machine to do two types of easy dialing: One-Touch Dialing and Speed Dialing. If you lose electrical power, auto-dial numbers stored in memory will not be lost.
Storing One-Touch Dial numbers:
You can store twenty fax or telephone numbers on your Brother machine's One-Touch keys, which can then be dialed simply by pressing the appropriate One-Touch key followed by the Black(Mono) Start or Color(Colour) Start key. You can also store names with these numbers. When you dial a One-Touch number, the Brother machine's LCD displays the name or number as the call is dialed.
One-Touch keys are not the dial pad keys. They are the eight keys (labeled 1/9 - 8/16) located on the left of the control panel.
To store One-Touch numbers, please follow these steps:
To access numbers 9 through 16, hold down the Shift key as you press the appropriate One-Touch key.
If you want to enter a pause in the dialing sequence (to wait for an outside line, for example), press Redial/Pause as you're entering digits. Pressing Redial/Pause enters a 3.5-second pause when the number is dialed, and a dash appears on the screen.
Storing Speed Dial numbers:
Speed Dial numbers are stored as three-digit locations on the dial pad of your Brother machine. Once you have designated a number to a Speed Dial location, said number can be dialed by pressing Search/Speed Dial, # (pound sign), the three-digit Speed Dial number, then the Black(Mono) Start or Color(Colour) Start key. The Brother machine can store 200 Speed Dial numbers. To store Speed Dial numbers, please follow these steps:
If you want to enter a pause in the dialing sequence (to wait for an outside line, for example), press Redial/Pause as you're entering digits. Pressing Redial/Pause enters a 3.5-second pause when the number is dialed, and a dash appears on the screen.
Changing One-Touch and Speed Dial numbers
If you try to store a One-Touch or Speed Dial number in a location where a number has already been stored, the screen displays the name or number currently stored there, then prompts you to either "1. Change or 2. Exit"
