When I try to send a fax the message "FAX # Restricted" appears on the display.
This message will appear when you try to send a fax or make an outbound call if the security feature Dial Restrict is turned On.
This feature is included with the Brother machine to prevent users from sending a fax or calling a wrong number by mistake. You can set the machine to restrict dialling by using the dial pad, One Touch or Speed Dial.
There are three settings available for this feature:
Off:
If you choose Off, the machine does not restrict any dialling method.
Enter # Twice:
If you choose Enter # twice, the machine will prompt you to re-enter the number, and then if you re-enter the same number correctly, the machine will start dialling. If you re-enter the wrong the number, The LCD will display the message Fax # Restricted.
On:
If you choose On, the machine will restrict all fax sending and outbound calls.
To adjust this feature, follow one of these steps:
DIAL PAD RESTRICTION - Restricts dialling from the dial pad only

ONE TOUCH RESTRICTION - Restricts dialling using the One Touch keys

SPEED DIAL RESTRICTION - Restricts dialling using Speed Dial numbers
