I am unable to scan using Windows XP Professional x64 Edition with a parallel connection after changing the user account using the "Switch User" option.

To resolve this issue, use the WIA driver instead of the TWAIN driver.
If you want to scan using the TWAIN driver, please use your Brother machine with the USB/ LAN connection.
