I get the "Filter "brlpdwrapperXXXXX" for printer "XXXXX" not available: No such file or directory" error on Gentoo (Linux)

Make sure you create a symbolic link to the filter file after the driver installation:

  1. Open the /etc/cups/ppd/ directory.
  2. Open the PPD file corresponding to your model.
  3. Confirm that the filter file name in the *cups filter line is corrected and contains your model name.

For example:

cupsFilter: "application/vnd.cups-postscript 0 xxxxxxxxxxxxx"

where xxxxxxxxxxxxx is the filter file name.

  1. Run the following command to create a symbolic link to the filter:

ln -s /usr/lib/cups/filter/xxxxxxxxxxxxx/usr/libexec/cups/filter/xxxxxxxxxxxxx

where xxxxxxxxxxxxx is your model's filter file name.
