You can use the rechargeable Li-ion battery (PA-BT-003).
To charge the rechargeable battery, make sure you have installed the rechargeable battery. For details, see the FAQ: "How to install the rechargeable Li-ion battery".
If you charge the printer without the battery installed, "Battery Error" will occur.
Before using the printer, you need to charge the rechargeable Li-ion battery. You can choose from the following three methods.
> Using a Computer
> Using a USB AC Adapter
> Using the Battery Charger (Optional)
Using a Computer

Use the included USB cable.

Make sure the computer is turned on.

Connect the printer to your computer using the USB cable (included).

1. Computer USB Port : 5 V DC, 0.5 A or above

The Battery LED turns on. Charge the battery until the Battery LED turns off.
Using a USB AC Adapter

Connect the USB cable to a USB AC Adapter (not included) suitable for charging mobile devices and plug the adapter into a power source.

1. USB AC Adapter (not included) : 5 V DC, 0.5 A or above

The Battery LED turns on. Charge the battery until the Battery LED turns off.
Using the Battery Charger (Optional)
Use the Battery Charger (PA-BC-002)* designed specifically for the rechargeable battery.
* Not available in all countries. For more information, visit your local Brother website.
Follow the instructions below:

Connect the AC Adapter to the charger's DC connector IN, and then connect the AC power cord to the AC Adapter.

Connect the AC power cord to an electrical socket.

Align the charging terminals of the charger and the battery pack, and then insert the battery pack. The indicator lights in orange when the battery starts charging.

The charge indicator will turn off when charging is complete. You can then remove the battery pack.
