To connect your Brother machine to the wall socket (jack), you are supplied with a TAE-N cable with the machine. Under certain conditions it could occur that this telephone cord is too short.
There are two possibilities to solve this problem:
- Use a TAE-N extension cable. These cables have on one side a TAE-N connector (wall socket (jack)) and on the other side TAE-N socket (for the Brother machine's line cord). Please only use extension cords with at least 4 wires connected.
- Use a TAE-N extension cable with the Brother machine's pin assignment. You can find the pin assignment in the picture below:

(1) TAE-N (wall socket (jack))
(2) RJ-11 (6 pins) |
- These extension cables are not available from Brother. Therefore please ask your local Brother dealer if you need an extension cable.
- Please note that you will get problems with sending and receiving faxes if the telephone line cord is too long.
