FAQs & Troubleshooting

I cannot scan via USB. (Mac OS X)

Follow the steps listed below to resolve the issue.

 

  1. Verify that there are no error messages on the display of the Brother machine. If an error is present perform necessary steps to clear the error before proceeding. Refer to "FAQs & Troubleshooting" for information on the error message you are receiving.

     

  2. Verify that the USB cable is securely connected from the Brother machine directly to the Macintosh. Do not connect the USB cable to the USB ports on the keyboard of the Macintosh.

     

  3. Download and install the latest scanner driver which is available in the Downloads section of the Brother Solutions Center.

     

  4. Open the Device Selector and configure scanner settings.

  5. Open your scanning application and test. The issue should now be solved.
