FAQs & Troubleshooting

Not all of the material to be cut is cut. Some areas remain uncut.

Possible Causes (or Results)

Case 1: A blade appropriate for the material being cut is not used.
Case 2: The blade extension from the blade holder is too little.
Case 3: If cutting is not possible even though the blade extension or cutting pressure is set higher than necessary,
the blade may be chipped.
Case 4: The mat’s adhesive strength has decreased, or the material is not secured.
Case 5: The blade is worn.
Case 6: The material is incompatible with this machine.
Case 7: The cutting pressure (“Cut Pressure”) is incorrect.
Case 8: Dust or lint has accumulated in the holder.
Case 9: The spacing between arranged patterns is too small.
Case 10: Neither a high tack adhesive fabric support sheet or iron-on fabric appliqué contact sheet is used for fabric cutting.
Case 11: A fabric is not firmly attached to a mat that has a high tack adhesive fabric support sheet on its adhesive side.
Case 12: An iron-on fabric appliqué contact sheet is not firmly attached to a fabric.


 

 

Solutions


Case 1

 

Use a blade appropriate for the material being cut.

Case 2

 

Remove the holder from the carriage, and then adjust the blade extension.

(1) Turn to the left to decrease the blade extension.


(2) Turn to the right to increase the blade extension.



 

Case 3

 

Replace the blade with a new one.

Case 4

 

Replace the ma with a new one.

Case 5

 

Replace the blade with a new one.

Case 6

 

Replace the material with one compatible with this machine.

Case 7

 

Adjust the setting for “Cut Pressure” in the pattern preview window of  DesignNCut Manager.

Case 8

 

Clean the holder.

Case 9

 

Rearrange the patterns to slightly separate them.

 

 

 

 

Case 10

 

Attach a high tack adhesive fabric support sheet to a mat or affix an iron-on fabric Wireless contact sheet to a fabric before cutting it.

Case 11

 

Firmly attach the fabric to the mat pressing the handle of the included spatula across the surface of the fabric.

Case 12

 

Iron the entire contact sheet to affix it firmly to the wrong side of the fabric.
