Send the same fax to more than one number at a time. (Broadcasting)
Broadcasting is automatically sending the same fax message to multiple fax numbers. You can include Groups, One-Touch numbers, Speed Dial numbers, and up to 50 manually dialed numbers in a single Broadcast.
To Broadcast a fax, follow these instructions:
You can enter fax numbers in the following ways:
- If you are entering a One-Touch number or if you have stored a Group on a One-Touch location and wish to include it in the Broadcast, follow these steps:
The Brother machine's LCD will display "Enter Fax No." and "Press Start."
- If you are entering a Speed Dial number or if you have stored a Group on a Speed Dial location and wish to include it in the Broadcast, follow these steps:
The Brother machine's LCD will display "Enter Fax No." and "Press Start."
- If you are manually dialing the number, follow these steps:
- Be sure to include 1 plus the area code and/or a pause if needed.
- To enter a 3.5-second pause in the dialing sequence, press the REDIAL/PAUSE key.
You can press the REDIAL/PAUSE key as many times as needed to increase the length of the pause.
- If you want to add another number to the Broadcast, repeat STEP3.
- If you have entered all the numbers you want to Broadcast to, go to STEP5.
- Your Brother machine will scan the document(s) into memory and begin sending the fax to each number you entered.
After the Broadcast is complete, your Brother machine will automatically print a Broadcast Report. This report will list each number that was dialed, the date and duration of the fax transmission, the number of pages sent, and whether or not the fax transmission was successful.
- If you did not use any One-Touch or Speed Dial numbers for Groups, you can Broadcast to up to 258 different numbers.
- If the memory is full, press the Stop/Exit key to cancel the job. If more than one page has been scanned, you can press Start to send the portion of the fax that is in your Brother machine's memory.
- If a particular number is busy, the Brother machine will redial the number automatically. If there is no response from a particular number, the Brother machine will not redial it.
- The available memory will vary depending on the types of jobs in memory and the number of locations used in the Broadcast. If you Broadcast to the maximum numbers available, you will not be able to use your Brother machine's Dual Access and Delayed Faxing features.
