What do the indicator lights mean?
The indicators light and blink to indicate the printer's status. The following symbols are used in this FAQ to explain the meaning of the different indicator colors and patterns.

LED Color | Description | Solution |
---|---|---|
Power is ON. | ||
- Downloading the data from a computer. - The printer is paused. |

The printer removes data. | ||
Print Head open error | Check that the print head is closed correctly. | |
Cutter error | The media may become stuck at the cutter entrance or exit. Remove the stuck media. If this error continues, contact your Brother dealer or Brother Customer Service for assistance. | |
Head open error | Check the printer status and close the print head correctly. | |
Paper empty |

Ribbon empty | Replace the ribbon with a new one. See the FAQ: "How to load the Ribbon". | |
Memory full error | The volume of data is too large to send. Adjust the data and send again. |
