Change or delete an existing One Touch or Speed Dial number. (For users who installed the Internet fax feature into their Brother machines.)

To change or delete a One Touch number, go to SECTION A: CHANGING OR DELETING ONE TOUCH NAMES OR NUMBERS.
- To change or delete a Speed Dial number, go to SECTION B: CHANGING OR DELETING SPEED DIAL NAMES OR NUMBERS.
SECTION A: CHANGING OR DELETING ONE TOUCH NAMES OR NUMBERS
If you try to store a One-Touch number in a location where a number has already been stored, the LCD displays the number currently stored there.
You can change or delete an existing One Touch name, number or email address by following these steps:

Press MENU and choose Fax => Address Book => One Touch Dial.

Press the ONE TOUCH key you want to change or delete.
Your Brother machine's LCD will display the name or number stored at that One Touch location with the message "1. Change 2. Clear."

Do one of the following:
-
To delete the stored number, follow these steps:
-
Press 2 to choose Clear. The LCD will display "Erase This Data?".
- Press 1 to choose Yes, and go to STEP 18.
-
Press 2 to choose Clear. The LCD will display "Erase This Data?".
- To change the stored name or number, go to STEP 4.
-
To delete the stored number, follow these steps:
-
Press 1 to choose Change.
-
Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose the type of number you are storing. Press the OK key.
You can choose one of the following:- Fax/Tel
- IFAX
- Email Color PDF
- Email Color JPG
- Email Color XPS
- Email Gray PDF
- Email Gray JPG
- Email Gray XPS
- Email B&W PDF
- Email B&W TIFF

Do one of the following:
-
If you want to keep the current number or e-mail address, go to STEP 7.
-
If you chose Fax/Tel in STEP 5, use the dial pad to edit or enter a fax or telephone number.
The number can be up to 20 digits long.
You can use the REDIAL/PAUSE key to insert a 3.5-second (for UK: 2.8-second) pause in the stored number.
You can enter multiple pauses by repeatedly pressing the REDIAL/PAUSE key.

If you chose E-mail or IFAX Registration Type in STEP 5, use the dial pad to edit or enter an e-mail address.
The e-mail address can be up to 60 characters long.

If you want to keep the current number or e-mail address, go to STEP 7.

If you chose E-Mail Registration Type in STEP 5 and stored an e-mail address on the One Touch key, you can only use the e-mail address when the Brother machine is in Scan Mode.
- If you chose IFAX Registration Type in STEP 5 and stored an e-mail address on the One Touch key, you can only use the e-mail address when the Brother machine is in Fax Mode.

Press the OK key.

Do one of the following:
-
If you want to keep the current name, go to STEP 9.

If you want to erase one character, follow these steps:
-
Press the LEFT OR RIGHT ARROW key to position the cursor under the character you want to delete.
-
Press the CLEAR key to delete the character, and enter the correct character.
You can press the CLEAR key repeatedly to erase multiple characters.
-
Press the LEFT OR RIGHT ARROW key to position the cursor under the character you want to delete.
-
If you want to insert a character, follow these steps:
-
Press the LEFT OR RIGHT ARROW key to position the cursor where you want to insert a new character.
- Type the character you want to insert.
-
Press the LEFT OR RIGHT ARROW key to position the cursor where you want to insert a new character.
-
If you want to keep the current name, go to STEP 9.
-
Press the OK key.

Do one of the following:
-
If you want to keep the current fax/scan resolution, go to STEP 17.
- If you want to save a fax/scan resolution along with the number, go to the appropriate step as shown in the following table:

Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose STD, FINE, S. FINE, or PHOTO. Press the OK key and go to STEP 18

Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose STD, FINE, or PHOTO. Press the OK key and go to STEP 18

Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose 100dpi, 200dpi, 300dpi, or 600dpi. Press the OK key.

If you chose Email Color PDF, go to STEP 16
- If you chose Email Color JPG or Email Color XPS, go to STEP 18

If you chose Email Color PDF, go to STEP 16

Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose 100dpi, 200dpi, or 300dpi. Press the OK key.

If you chose Email Gray PDF, go to STEP 16
- If you chose Email Gray JPG or Email Gray XPS, go to STEP 18
-
If you chose Email Gray PDF, go to STEP 16
-
Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose 200x100dpi or 200dpi. Press the OK key.

If you chose Email B&W PDF, go to STEP 16
- If you chose Email B&W TIFF or Email Gray XPS, go to STEP 18
-
If you chose Email B&W PDF, go to STEP 16

Choose the PDF type from PDF or SPDF (Secure PDF) that will be used to send to your PC.
-
Press the OK key.
-
Do one of the following:
-
To change or delete another One Touch number, repeat STEPS 2 through 17.
- To finish changing or deleting one touch names or numbers, press the STOP/EXIT key.
-
To change or delete another One Touch number, repeat STEPS 2 through 17.
SECTION B: CHANGING OR DELETING SPEED DIAL NAMES OR NUMBERS
If you try to store a Speed Dial number in a location where a number has already been stored, the LCD displays the number currently stored there.
You can change or delete an existing Speed Dial name or number by following these steps:

Press MENU and choose Fax => Address Book => Speed Dial.

Use the dial pad to choose the three-digit (001 – 200) Speed Dial number. Press the OK key.
Your Brother machine's LCD will display the name or number stored at that Speed Dial location with the message "1. Change 2. Clear."

Do one of the following:
-
To delete the stored number, follow these steps:
-
Press 2 to choose Clear. The LCD will display "Erase This Data?".
- Press 1 to choose Yes, and go to STEP 18.

Press 2 to choose Clear. The LCD will display "Erase This Data?".
- To change the stored name or number, go to STEP 4.

Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose 200x100dpi or 200dpi. Press the OK key.

If you chose Email B&W PDF, go to STEP 16
- If you chose Email B&W TIFF or Email Gray XPS, go to STEP 18

If you chose Email B&W PDF, go to STEP 16

Choose the PDF type from PDF or SPDF (Secure PDF) that will be used to send to your PC.

Press the OK key.
