Adjust the Sleep Mode setting.

The Sleep Mode function of your Brother machine reduces power consumption while the machine is idle. You can adjust how long your Brother machine is idle before it goes into Sleep Mode. If you press a key on the control panel or the machine receives a fax, receives computer data, or makes a copy, the timer will be reset.

 

When the machine is in Sleep Mode the LCD will display will be blank.

 

If your Brother machine is in Sleep Mode when you adjust the Sleep Time, the new setting will take effect the next time the Brother machine receives data from your PC, receives a fax, or makes a copy.

 

To adjust your Brother machine's Sleep Mode setting, follow the steps listed below:

 

  1. Press Settings or Menu.
  2. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose General Setup. Press OK.
  3. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Sleep Mode. Press OK.
  4. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose the amount of time your Brother machine is idle before entering Sleep Mode. You can choose 1 Min, 2 Mins, 3 Mins, 5 Mins, 10 Mins, 30 Mins or 60 Mins which is the length of time the machine is idle before entering sleep mode. Press OK.
  5. Press Stop/Exit.
