2-sided copying of 2 sided or book document

Please use the scanner glass for 2-sided copying of 2 sided or book document.

Click one of the following links to use the 2-sided(duplex) copy feature:



  • 2 in 1 (ID), Poster, Book Copy* and Fit to Page are not available with 2-sided Copy.

    *for some available models

  • You can only use plain paper sizes A4, A5, Letter or Executive (for some countries).

Copying a 2-sided document to 2-sided

  1. Load your document. Place the first page face down on the scanner glass.

  2. Close the document cover.

  3. Press Copy(Copy).

  4. Enter the number of copies you want.

  5. Press Options.

  6. If you want to sort multiple copies, press the Up or Down arrow to display Stack/Sort.

  7. Press Stack/Sort.

  8. Press Sort.

  9. Press the Up or Down arrow to display 2-sided Copy.

  10. Press 2-sided Copy.

  11. Press the Up or Down arrow to display the 2-sided copy type you want, and then press it.

  12. Read and review the message on the Touchscreen, and then press OK.

  13. Review your settings on the Touchscreen, and then press OK.

  14. Press Black (Mono) Start or Color (Colour) Start.

  15. The Touchscreen shows: Turn over the document (or Flip the book), then press [Scan]. When you finish, press [Complete].

  16. If you pressed Sort for multiple copies, repeat STEP 15 for each additional page. After all the pages have been scanned, press Complete.
  • DO NOT touch printed page until it is ejected the second time. The machine will print the first side, and eject the paper, and then pull the paper in to print the second side.

  • If you get a paper jam, press Advanced after STEP 10, and then press one of the jam prevention settings: 2-sided 1 or 2-sided 2.
    2-sided 1 uses a longer print time for the ink to dry.
    2-sided 2 uses a longer print time and will also print in lighter colors.

Copying a book document to 2-sided

  1. Load your book document.

  2. Close the document cover.

  3. Press Copy(Copy).

  4. Enter the number of copies you want.

  5. Press Options.

  6. If you want to sort multiple copies, press the Up or Down arrow to display Stack/Sort.

  7. Press Stack/Sort.

  8. Press Sort.

  9. Press the Up or Down arrow to display 2-sided Copy.

  10. Press 2-sided Copy.

  11. Press the Up or Down arrow to display Portrait Short Edge Flip.

  12. Press Portrait Short Edge Flip.

  13. Read and review the message on the Touchscreen, and then press OK.

  14. Review your settings on the Touchscreen, and then press OK.

  15. Press Black (Mono) Start or Color (Colour) Start.

  16. The Touchscreen shows: Turn over the document (or Flip the book), then press [Scan]. When you finish, press [Complete].

  17. If you pressed Sort for multiple copies, repeat STEP 16 for each additional page. After all the pages have been scanned, press Complete.
