Cannot Scan ##

The machine has a mechanical issue.

Remove the document.

Press and hold Power(Power) to turn the machine off, and then turn it on again.
If the issue continues, call  Brother customer service.

 

  • If your Brother machine has 2-Sided(Duplex) Scanning feature:
    The document is too long for 2-sided(duplex) scanning.
    Press Cancel(Cancel). For 2-sided(duplex) scanning, use A4, Letter, Legal or Folio size paper.
    Other paper must be within the following size:
    Length: 147.3 to 355.6 mm (5.8 to 14.0 in)
    Width: 105 to 215.9 mm (4.1 to 8.5 in)
     
  • If your machine has FAX function:
    We recommend transferring your faxes to another fax machine or to your computer before turning off the Brother machine.
