Adjust the Brother machine's Sleep Time setting

The Sleep Time setting can reduce power consumption. When the machine is in Sleep mode (Power Save mode) it acts as though it is turned off. The machine will wake up and start printing when it receives a print job.

You can choose how long the machine must be idle before it goes into Sleep mode. The timer will restart if any operation is carried out on the machine, such as receiving a fax (supported models only) or a print job.

When the machine goes into Sleep mode, the machine's display backlight turns off.

To adjust your Brother machine's Sleep Time setting, follow the steps listed below:

  1. Press Settings(Settings).
  2. Press All Settings.
  3. Press the Up or Down arrow key to display General Setup.
  4. Press General Setup.
  5. Press the Up or Down arrow key to display Ecology.
  6. Press Ecology.
  7. Press Sleep Time.
  8. Using the keyboard on the machine's display, enter the length of time (0-50 minutes) the machine will remain idle before entering Sleep mode.
    Press OK.
  9. Press Home(Home).
