FAQs & Troubleshooting

What should I do to ensure the rhinestones are secured to my material?

In order to firmly attach rhinestones to fabric, observe the following.

  • Before attaching rhinestones to new fabric, we recommend washing and thoroughly drying the fabric, then ironing out any wrinkles. The surface of the new fabric may be treated, making it difficult for the rhinestones to remain adhered.
  • Place a cloth under and on top of the fabric with the transfer sheet attached, and then use an iron to press down on the top cloth.
Use thin fabric for the top cloth. If the cloth is too thick, the heat from the iron may not be well distributed and the rhinestones may not adhere properly to the fabric.

When ironing, use an iron set to “Dry” and a medium temperature (140 to 160 °C) and press down firmly on the top cloth for about 45 to 60 seconds.

Firmly hold down the iron with both hands so that the heat is evenly distributed over the area where the rhinestones are positioned.

When attaching a large rhinestone pattern, iron one section at a time for about 45 to 60 seconds.
Be sure the surface of the iron covers each section for even distribution of heat.

When using a cordless iron, return the iron to its stand and allow it to warm up before ironing the next section.
Repeat this until the rhinestones are firmly adhered to the surface.

  • When washing a rhinstone embellished fabric, turn the garment inside out before washing.
For best results, hand wash and line dry.
When using a washing machine, be sure to use a laundry wash bag. In addition, do not use a clothes dryer.
  • Depending on the material and adhesive properties as well as the conditions of use, rhinestones may peel off from fabric.

Precautions for storing rhinestones
Do not store in a location exposed to direct sunlight, high temperatures or high humidity.
