FAQs & Troubleshooting

"The safety device has been activated. Is the thread tangled? Is the needle bent?" message appears on the LCD. What does it mean?

This message is displayed when the motor locks due to tangled thread or for other reasons related to thread delivery.

  • If the fabric is caught in the machine, remove the fabric from the machine.
  • Check the condition of the upper thread. If the upper thread is tangled, remove the thread tangled in the machine.
  • Check the condition of the bobbin thread. If the bobbin thread is tangled, remove the thread jammed and clean the race.
  • Check the condition of the needle. If the needle is broken, bent or blunt, replace the needle with a new one.

Before continuing embroidering:

  • Turn the handwheel toward you (counterclockwise) to check if the handwheel moves smoothly.
  • Be sure to thread the machine properly. Improper threading can cause  problems again.
