Choosing the paper tray my Brother machine will use for copying.
You can choose the tray your Brother machine will use for copying.
To change the tray use for the next copy job, follow these steps:
*If your Brother machine has a touchscreen, please follow the steps under "For touchscreen models" below.

Changing the default tray use for copying
To change the default tray use setting for copying, follow these steps:
*If your Brother machine has a touchscreen, please follow the steps under "For touchscreen models" below.

- To change the tray setting for the next copy job, refer to "Setting tray use for the next copy job".
- To change the default tray setting for copying, refer to "Changing the default tray use for copying".
Poster copy is not available when you use Tray #2.
Setting tray use for the next copy jobTo change the tray use for the next copy job, follow these steps:
*If your Brother machine has a touchscreen, please follow the steps under "For touchscreen models" below.
- Press the COPY key to illuminate it.
- Do one of the following:
- Place the document you want to copy face up in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).
- Place the document you want to copy face down on the flat scanner glass.
- Place the document you want to copy face up in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).
- Use the dial pad to enter the number of copies you want to make.
You can make up to 99 copies at once.
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Tray Select.
- Press the LEFT OR RIGHT ARROW key to choose the tray you want to use.
- You can choose Tray #1, Tray #2, or Auto Select.
- Auto Select will allow your machine to feed paper from either Tray #1 or Tray #2, using the paper type and size settings from the COPY key menu.
- You can choose Tray #1, Tray #2, or Auto Select.
- Press the OK key.
- Do one of the following:
- Press the Black (Mono) Start key to make a black and white copy.
- Press the Color (Colour) Start key to make a color copy.
- Press the Black (Mono) Start key to make a black and white copy.
<For touchscreen models>
- Press the COPY key to illuminate it.
- Do one of the following:
- Place the document you want to copy face up in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).
- Place the document you want to copy face down on the flat scanner glass.
- Place the document you want to copy face up in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).
- Use the dial pad to enter the number of copies you want to make.

- Press Tray Select.

- Press the Tray Setting key.
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Tray Use: Copy.
- Press the LEFT OR RIGHT ARROW key to choose Tray #1, Tray #2, or Auto Select.
Auto Select will allow your machine to feed paper from either Tray #1 or Tray #2, using the paper type and size settings from the COPY key menu.
- Press the OK key.
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Complete.
- Press the OK key.
<For touchscreen models>
- Press the Tray Setting key.
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW to display Tray Use: Copy.
- Press Tray Use: Copy.
- Press Tray #1, Tray #2, or Auto Select.
Auto Select will allow your machine to feed paper from either Tray #1 or Tray #2, using the paper type and size settings from the COPY key menu.
- Press the STOP/EXIT key.
