Selecting the best possible print quality from a Macintosh PC
When printing from a Macintosh system you can alter the print quality to suit your particular printing requirements. To select the best print quality, follow the steps below:
The following information assumes you are using Mac OS 8.6 or later.
From a Macintosh application such as ClarisWorks, click the 'File' menu, and then select the 'Print' option. You will see a dialogue similar to the one below:
Click the "General" drop down box. You will see a drop down list with the following options. Select "Printer Specific Options".
Once on the Printer Specific Options page, use the resolution drop down box to select the resolution that you require for your document.
In the screenshot below three options are displayed: 300 dpi, 600 dpi, 1200 dpi. The options available to you will vary by model name.
Select the highest possible print quality.
Once you have made your selection, press "Print" to send the print job to the printer.
