What is the default node name of a Brother machine?

 


BRN_****** is for the wired connection
BRW_****** is for the wireless connection

where ****** is the last 6 digit of the product's Ethernet address (MAC address).

You can see the current node name,


From the control panel menu:

  1. Press Menu or Menu/Set key on the control panel.
  2. Press up or down navigation key until LAN appears and press Set or Menu/Set.
  3. Press up or down navigation key until TCP/IP appears and press Set or Menu/Set.
  4. Press up or down navigation key until Node Name appears and press Set or Menu/Set.

From the BRAdmin Professional software:
*only for Windows users.

  1. Start the BRAdmin Professional utility, by clicking Start --> Programs --> Brother Administrator Utilities --> Brother BRAdmin Professional xx --> BRAdmin Professional xx.
    ("xx" varies on the version of BRAdmin Professional you are using.)
  2. Right click on the print server which you want to configure and select Configure Print Server, Configure Wireless Setting, Configure Interface, Configure Printer or Configure Device.
  3. Enter a password if you have set it. You can now see the print server settings.
