Copy on Both Sides of the Paper (1-sided to 2-sided)

We recommend you use ADF (automatic document feeder) for 2-sided copying of 1 sided documents.
Follow the steps below to use the 2-sided(duplex) copy feature:

  • We recommend loading single-sided documents in the ADF for 2-sided copying.

  • You can only use plain paper sizes A4, A5, Letter or Executive (for some countries).

  1. Load your document.

  2. Press Copy(Copy).

  3. Enter the number of copies:

    • Press - or + on the Touchscreen.
    • Press the number of copies to display the keyboard on the Touchscreen, and then enter the number of copies using the Touchscreen. Press OK.

  4. Press Options > Stack/Sort > Sort.

  5. Press the Up or Down arrow key to display the 2-sided Copy option, and then press it.

  6. Press the  option you want.

  7. Read and review the message on the Touchscreen, and then press OK.

  8. Review your settings on the Touchscreen, and then press OK.

  9. Press Black (Mono) Start or Color (Colour) Start. If you placed the document in the ADF, the machine scans the pages and starts printing.
If you are using the scanner glass, go to the next step.

  10. The Touchscreen displays the message:

Turn over the document (or Flip the book), then press [Scan]. When you finish, press [Complete].

Place the next page on the scanner glass, and then press Scan. Press OK. The machine starts printing.

  11. If you selected the Sort option for multiple copies, repeat the previous step for each page. After all the pages have been scanned, press Complete. The machine starts printing.
  • DO NOT touch printed page until it is ejected the second time. The machine will print the first side, and eject the paper, and then pull the paper in to print the second side.

  • If you get a paper jam, press Advanced after STEP 5, and then press one of the jam prevention settings: 2-sided 1 or 2-sided 2.
2-sided 1 uses a longer print time for the ink to dry.
2-sided 2 uses a longer print time and will also print in lighter colors.
