FAQs & Troubleshooting

If I use the On/Off key to turn my machine off, can I still receive faxes?

Your Brother machine will not continue to receive faxes if you press the ON/OFF key to turn it off.

  • If you want to keep the machine powered on but do not want to receive faxes, you can disconnect the telephone cord from the jack labeled LINE on the machine.

In order to keep the print quality at its best, your machine will continue to perform its automatic cleaning process when it is powerd off.

When you turn your machine off, any faxes stored in its memory will be deleted.

(some models with flash memory)
The machine will not lose faxes in the memory even after turning off the power switch.
