Scan a document and open the scanned image with a graphics application using the SCAN button on my Brother machine

You can scan a document directly into your graphics application for viewing and editing by pressing the SCAN button on the control panel of your Brother machine.

  1. Load your document.

  2. Press Scan.

  3. Press the Up or Down arrow key to display Scan to Image.

  4. Press Scan to Image.

  5. (For network users)

    1. Press the Up or Down arrow key to display the destination computer you want to send to.
      Note:
      If the computer is not displayed, click here to see how to solve the issue.

    2. Press the destination computer name.

    3. If the LCD prompts you to enter a PIN number, enter the 4-digit PIN number for the destination computer on LCD, and press OK.


  6. Do one of the following:

    • If you want to use the default settings, go to Step 12.

    • If you want to change the default settings, go to Step 7.


  7. Press Options.

  8. Press Set with Touch Panel.

  9. Press ON.

    To use Set with Touch Panel, the ControlCenter software must be installed on a computer that is connected to the machine.


  10. Choose the settings for Scan Type, Resolution, File Type and Remove Background Color as needed.

  11. Press OK.

  12. Press Start. The machine starts scanning the document.
