Program my Brother machine to automatically dial a predefined number before every fax number I dial.

You can use your Brother machine's Dial Prefix feature to automatically dial a predefined number before every fax you send.


For example, if your telephone system requires you to dial 9 to access an outside line, then you can program the Dial Prefix feature to automatically dial 9 every time you send a fax.


To program your Brother machine's Dial Prefix, follow these steps:
  1. Press image(Settings).

  2. Press the Up or Down arrow key to display Initial Setup.

  3. Press Initial Setup.

  4. Press the Up or Down arrow key to display Dial Prefix.

  5. Press Dial Prefix.

  6. Press On.

  7. Press Dial Prefix.

  8. Enter the prefix number (up to 5 digits) using the keyboard on the Touchscreen.

    • If your telephone system requires a timed break recall (hookflash), press "!" on the Touchscreen.

    • You cannot use "!" with any other numbers or characters.

    • (Pulse dialing feature models only) If the pulse dialing mode is on, # and * are not available to use.


  9. Press OK.

  10. Press image.
