Reduce the size of a received fax to fit the size of the paper in the Brother machine
Turning on Auto Reduction will automatically reduce the size of an incoming fax to fit the size of the paper in your machine. To set Auto Reduction mode ON, follow the instructions listed below:
*If your Brother machine has a Touchscreen, please follow the steps under "For Touchscreen models" below.
If the FAX mode key is not illuminated, press it.
Press Menu.
Press the Up or Down Arrow key to select Fax. Press OK.
Press the Up or Down Arrow key to select Setup Receive. Press OK.
Press the Up or Down Arrow key to select Auto Reduction. Press OK.
Press the Up or Down Arrow key to select On. Press OK.
Press Stop/Exit.
<For Touchscreen models>
Press MENU on the Touchscreen.
Press the Up or Down Arrow key to display Fax. Press Fax.
Press the Up or Down Arrow key to display Setup Receive. Press Setup Receive.
Press the Up or Down Arrow key to display Auto Reduction. Press Auto Reduction.
Press On.
Press Stop/Exit key on the control panel.
The machine calculates the reduction ratio by using the page size of the fax and your Paper Size setting.
Verify the paper size is set correctly.
