When receiving a single page fax, it divided and printed on two pages or I get an extra blank page

If the received faxes are divided and printed on two pages or if you get an extra blank page, your paper size setting may not be correct for the paper you are using. Check if the paper size setting matches the size of paper you are using.

 

Also we recommend turning on Auto Reduction. If the Auto Reduction is set to On, the machine calculates the reduction ratio by using the paper size of the fax and your paper size setting.

To set Auto Reduction On, follow the instructions listed below:

*If your Brother machine has a Touchscreen, please follow the steps under "For Touchscreen models" below.

  1. If the FAX mode key is not illuminated, press it.
  2. Press Menu.
  3. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to select Fax. Press OK.
  4. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to select Setup Receive. Press OK.
  5. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to select Auto Reduction. Press OK.
  6. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to select On. Press OK.
  7. Press Stop/Exit.

<For Touchscreen models>

  1. Press MENU on the Touchscreen.
  2. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to display Fax. Press Fax.
  3. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to display Setup Receive. Press Setup Receive.
  4. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to display Auto Reduction. Press Auto Reduction.
  5. Press On.
  6. Press Stop/Exit key on the control panel.
