FAQs & Troubleshooting

I keep getting the error message "Authenticate Err (Authentication error)".

This error message appears because of the following reasons.

  • The user name and password are not configured.
  • The user name and password you entered are not correct.
  • The date and time on your Brother machine does not match the date and time on the file server and authentication server.
  • The SNTP time server protocol is not configured correctly.

Please check the following to solve the problem:

  1. Check if the user name and password are configured or entered correctly.

    1. Type http://[IP address of your machine] into your browser.

    2. Click Administrator Settings.
    3. Enter a user name and a password.
