How can I store telephone and fax numbers on my Brother machine for easy dialing?

You can store Speed Dial numbers on your Brother machine for easy dialing. If you electrical power, Speed Dial numbers stored in your Brother machine's memory will not be lost.



SECTION A: STORING SPEED DIAL NUMBERS

You can store up to 80 or 100 (that depends on your Brother machine) two-digit Speed Dial numbers on your Brother machine.

To store Speed Dial numbers, follow these steps:

  1. Press the SPEED DIAL key.

  2. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select Set Speed Dial.

  3. Press the OK key.

  4. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select the two-digit Speed Dial location on which you want to store a number.

  5. Press the OK key.

  6. Do one of the following:

    • Use the dial pad to enter a name.

      The name can be up to 16 characters long.

    • IF you do not want to enter a name, go to STEP 7.


  7. Press the OK key.

  8. Enter the fax or telephone number.

    The number can be up to 20 characters long.

  9. Press the OK key.

  10. Do one of the following:

    • Enter a second telephone or fax number.

      The number can be up to 20 characters long.

    • If you do not want to enter a second number, go to STEP 11.


  11. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select Complete.

  12. Press the OK key.

  13. Do one of the following:

    • To store another Speed Dial number, repeat STEP 4 through 12.

    • If you do not want to store another Sped Dial number, go to STEP 14.


  14. Press the STOP/EXIT key.


SECTION B: CHANGING OR DELETING SPEED DIAL NAMES OR NUMBERS

You can change or delete an existing Speed Dial number by following these steps:

  1. Press the SPEED DIAL key.

  2. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select Set Speed DIAL.

  3. Press the OK key.

  4. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select the two-digit Speed Dial location you want to change.

  5. Press the OK key.

  6. Do one of the following:

    • Follow these steps:

      1. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select Change.

      2. Go to STEP 7.


    • Follow these steps:

      1. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select Delete.

      2. Press the OK key.

      3. Press 1 to confirm the deletion.

      4. Go to STEP 12.


  7. Press the OK key.

    To change a character, press the LEFT OR RIGHT ARROW key to position the cursor under the character you want to change, press the CLEAR/BACK key, then enter a new character.




  8. Do one of the following:

    • If you do not want to change the currently stored name, go to STEP 9.

    • If you want to change the currently stored name, follow these step:

      1. Press the UP DOWN ARROW key to select Name.

      2. Press the OK key.

      3. Use the dial pad to enter a new name.

        The name can be up to 16 characters long.

      4. Press the OK key.


  9. Do one of the following:

    • If you do not want to change the first number stored at this Speed Dial location, go to STEP 10.

    • If you want to change the first number stored at this Speed Dial location, follow these steps:

      1. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select Fax/Tel1.

      2. Press the OK key.

      3. Use the dial pad to enter a new fax or telephone number.

        The number can be up to 20 digits long.

      4. Press the OK key.


  10. Do one of the following:

    • If you do not want to change the second number stored at this Speed Dial location, go to STEP 11.

    • If you want to change the second number stored at this Speed Dial location, follow these steps:

      1. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select Fax/Tel2.

      2. Press the OK key.

      3. Use the dial pad to enter a new fax or telephone number.

        The number can be up to 20 digits long.

      4. Go to STEP 11.


  11. Press the OK key.

  12. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select Complete.

  13. Press the OK key.

  14. Press the STOP/EXIT key.
