Your Brother machine has three adjustable volume settings:

• Adjusting Ring Volume
• Adjusting Beeper Volume
• Adjusting Speaker Volume

Adjusting Ring Volume

You can adjust the machine's Ring Volume setting by following these steps:

1. Press Menu/Set.
   
   
2. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose General Setup and press Menu/Set.
   
   
3. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Volume and press Menu/Set.
   
   
4. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Ring and press Menu/Set.
   
   
5. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Low, Med, High, or Off and press Menu/Set.
   
   
6. Press Stop/Exit.

You can also adjust the Ring Volume while your Brother machine is idle by following these steps:

1. Press Fax.
   
   
2. Press the Left or Right arrow key to adjust the ring volume.
   
   
   • The volume changes every time you press an arrow key.
     
     
   • When you press an arrow key, the machine will ring so you can hear the chosen setting. The LCD will show the chosen setting.
     
     
   • The setting you choose will remain active until you change it again.

Adjusting Beeper Volume

You can set the machine's Beeper Volume setting to Low, Medium, High, or Off.

When the Beeper volume is set to Low, Medium, or High, the machine beeps every time you press a key or make an error, and at the end of the sending and receiving processes.

To adjust the machine's Beeper Volume, follow these steps:

1. Press Menu/Set.
   
   
2. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose General Setup and press Menu/Set.
   
   
3. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Volume and press Menu/Set.
   
   
4. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Beeper and press Menu/Set.
   
   
5. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Low, Med, High, or Off and press Menu/Set.
   
   
6. Press Stop/Exit.

Adjusting Speaker Volume

You can adjust the machine's Speaker Volume setting by following these steps:

1. Press Menu/Set.
   
   
2. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose General Setup and press Menu/Set.
   
   
3. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Volume and press Menu/Set.
   
   
4. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Speaker and press Menu/Set.
   
   
5. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Low, Med, High, or Off and press Menu/Set.
   
   
6. Press Stop/Exit.

Adjusting speaker volume using the hook key

You can also adjust the Speaker Volume setting by using Hook:

1. Press Hook.
   
   
2. Press the Left or Right arrow key to adjust speaker volume.
   
   
   • The volume changes every time you press an arrow key.
     
     
   • When you press an arrow key, the machine will ring so you can hear the chosen setting. The LCD will show the chosen setting.
     
     
   • The setting you choose will remain active until you change it again.
