I've used the Java RPC software to change settings on my printer. Is there any way I can save the settings of one printer and send those settings to other printers?

Yes, the Java RPC software creates a file called sendpjl.bin. This file contains the print settings the printer is using. If you configure a printer and wish to send the same configuration to other printers, simply send this file to other printers and the settings will be changed.

The file is typically located in the "Program Files\BROTHER\RPC for windows" folder. A typical sendpjl.bin file looks like this:

%-12345X@PJL
@PJL DEFAULT SOURCETRAY=TRAY1
@PJL SET SOURCETRAY=TRAY1
@PJL DEFAULT TRAYPRIORITY=MPT1T2
@PJL SET TRAYPRIORITY=MPT1T2
@PJL DEFAULT MANUALFEED=OFF
@PJL SET MANUALFEED=OFF
%-12345X

The file is simply a list of PJL commands which changes the printer settings.

To send the settings to other printers, copy the file to the destination printer, or a network connected printer.

<Example (using the DOS Copy command).>

copy sendpjl.bin lpt1:/b

For network users you can use the "Send file" option from the BRAdmin Professional software.

The latest BRAdmin Professional Software is available in the Downloads section.
